The School of Agriculture (SOA), Uttaranchal University, observed Anti-Ragging Day on 12 August 2025 and celebrated Anti-Ragging Week from 12 to 21 August 2025 with the active participation of UG and PG students.
The programme commenced on 12 August with an inaugural session where Prof (Dr) Rajendra Prasad, HoD, delivered the welcome address, followed by an oath-taking ceremony under the guidance of Mr Jayanti Ballabh. On 13 August, a Debate Competition was held, coordinated by Dr Anil Kumar Sharma and Dr Neha Saini, along with poster displays throughout the SOA building.
On 14 August, students participated in Slogan Writing, Poster Making, and Logo Designing Competitions. Winners were announced and prizes distributed under the supervision of Dr Rachna Juyal and Ms Diksha Nautiyal. On 18 August, a rally and group selfies at the Anti-Ragging Selfie Point were organised with coordination from Er Raja Joshi and Ms Mansi Nautiyal.
A key highlight was the Awareness Workshop on 19th August, where Prof (Dr) Rajendra Prasad, Member of the Central Anti-Ragging Committee, delivered a lecture on the legal aspects of ragging, followed by a discussion. Online engagement on 20 August included a video message from the Director of SOA.
The week concluded on 21 August with UGC short films and closing remarks by Mr Jayanti Ballabh and Mr Sunil Prakash. The celebration successfully spread awareness and reinforced SOA’s commitment to a ragging-free campus.
