Report on Talent Hunt for First-Year Students

As part of the Student Induction Programme, the School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS), Uttaranchal University, organised a vibrant Talent Hunt on 14 August 2025, providing a platform for first-year students to showcase their creativity and artistic skills. The Talent Hunt featured a variety of captivating performances that highlighted the diverse talents of the students. Participants impressed the audience with soulful singing, energetic dance routines, expressive poetry, and heartfelt shayari. Each performance reflected the creativity, confidence, and passion of the students, setting a lively and welcoming tone for their university journey. The event, held with great enthusiasm, was coordinated by Dr Shefalee Singh, Cultural Head, SALS, under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh, Dean, SALS. 

Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh, Dean, SALS, graced the occasion and encouraged the participants to continue nurturing their talents alongside academics. He emphasised the importance of co-curricular activities in building confidence and holistic personality development. Students who delivered exceptional performances were felicitated by the Dean, receiving applause and appreciation from faculty members and peers alike. 

The event concluded with a note of encouragement for students to participate in future cultural programmes and contribute to the vibrant campus life at Uttaranchal University. The Talent Hunt not only unearthed hidden talents but also fostered a sense of belonging and camaraderie among the new batch. It was a memorable start to their academic journey.
