Anti-Ragging Squad, SOA conducted the ‘Anti-Ragging Awareness Programme’ on 14 August 2024. Mr Jayanti Ballabh, Coordinator, Anti-Ragging Squad SOA addressed the students about the origin and menace of ragging in India and explained the legal consequences of involvement in such activities. He also reiterated that anyone involved actively or passively in promoting ragging, is liable to be punished. He also addressed that ragging makes students mentally and physically weak. All the members of Anti-Ragging Squad including Mr Jayanti Ballabh, Dr Rachna Juyal, Mr Sunil Prakash, Dr Neha Saini, Dr Sandeep Kumar and Ms Mansi Nautiyal interacted with the students of the second year onwards of UG and PG Degree Programme of Agriculture. Students were informed about the repercussions of indulging in ragging and being ragged. Prof (Dr) Mahipal Singh, Dean, and Dr Rajendra Prasad, HoD, SOA also addressed the students and briefed them about the different strategies and action plans for curbing the menace of ragging in Uttaranchal University and School of Agriculture by adopting various measures and activities.
