A Seminar on “Human Values & Ethics” was organised by the School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS), Uttaranchal University, on 18 August 2025.
The seminar was inaugurated by Shri Jitender Joshi, President, Uttaranchal University; Dr S. Farooq, President, Himalaya Wellness Company; Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor; and Prof Ajay Singh, Director, SALS and Convenor of the seminar.
The event featured a series of insightful talks by distinguished speakers. In his inaugural address, Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh emphasised the importance of human values and ethics. He remarked that “a good action performed today remains a good action forever”, and stressed that human values are the values of human beings, for human beings, and by human beings.
Dr S. Farooq, Chief Guest, underlined the principles and beliefs that guide our actions and behaviour. He highlighted that values such as friendship, kindness, honesty, respect, and responsibility are crucial for building a strong society and nation.
Prof Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor, focused on the significance of character building and righteous human actions in his speech.
The seminar witnessed the participation of more than 1100 students from the School of Applied and Life Sciences. On this occasion, Dr V. K. Srivastava, Dr Nishesh Sharma, Dr Shivam Pandey, Mr Yogesh Kumar Awasthi, Dr Pritesh Vyas, and Dr Rajendra Prasad were also present.
The programme was anchored by Dr Shikha Thakur and Dr Sonika Kalia.
