As part of the orientation program for first-year students, an interactive session on Research and Innovation was organised on 25 August 2025 by the School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS). The invited experts for the session were Prof. Rajesh Singh, Director DRI, Uttaranchal University, and Prof. Anita Gehlot, Joint Director DRI, Uttaranchal University, along with Prof. Ajay Singh, Director SALS & Director Research, Uttaranchal University.
The event commenced with the warm welcome of the invited experts, followed by a welcome address by Prof. Ajay Singh, who provided valuable insights into various fields of science and highlighted the output-oriented research being carried out at SALS. In the first technical session on interdisciplinary research Prof. Anita Gehlot emphasised on the significance of scientific research with interdisciplinary approach to address various issues of society, healthcare and environment.
In the second technical session Prof. Rajesh Singh interacted with students related to intellectual property rights (IPR) and how innovative research can be credited with grants of IPR. Students were also provided exposure to the remarkable achievements of university in research and innovation in recent years. The event proved to be very informative, providing essential information and guidance in the context of scientific research. The event was coordinated by Prof. Nishesh Sharma.
