On 29 August 2025, the Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences, Uttaranchal University, organised an Anti-Drug Awareness Rally with the objective of spreading awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug abuse. The event aimed to educate young minds on the dangers of addiction and motivate them to adopt a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

During the rally, students carried banners and placards with impactful slogans and raised their voices against substance abuse. The energetic participation not only spread the message across the campus and surrounding areas but also helped the students themselves to understand the severe physical, mental, and social consequences of drug consumption.

The rally was conducted with the encouragement and guidance of Prof (Dr) Sonal Sharma, Director, USCS, and Dr Sameer Dev Sharma, HoD, USCS, whose constant support motivates the institution to organise such impactful initiatives.

The programme instilled in students the responsibility to make healthy choices and encourage their peers to stay drug-free, reaffirming the school’s commitment to their holistic growth and social responsibility. The rally was coordinated by Ms Manisha Saini and Ms Manisha Khanduja.
