As part of their hospital training and community outreach initiatives, the B.Sc. Nursing students of Uttaranchal College of Nursing actively participated in a Blood Donation Camp organized by the Government Medical College & Hospital, Dehradun, in collaboration with Uttaranchal College of Nursing. The camp was inaugurated by the Medical Superintendent, Dr. Ravindra Singh Bisht.

The main objective of the camp was to promote voluntary blood donation and create awareness about the importance of safe blood transfusion. Prior to donation, nursing students underwent pre-donation check-ups, including hemoglobin testing, BP monitoring, and weight measurement. Those found eligible voluntarily donated blood. A total of ten students from Uttaranchal College of Nursing donated blood during the camp.

In addition to donating blood, the nursing students also educated patients and their relatives on the need for regular blood donation, its role in saving lives, and its benefits to society. Their interactive approach encouraged participation and strengthened awareness within the community.

The initiative not only contributed to the hospital blood bank, supporting patients in need, but also fostered a sense of social responsibility and teamwork among the students. The event was highly appreciated by the hospital authorities and was regarded as a successful step towards promoting safe and voluntary blood donation.
