Report for Educational Trip to Shimla

The educational tour to Shimla was organized by the Department of Food Technology, School of Applied and Life Sciences, from 18th April 2025 to 20th April 2025 to provide students with practical understanding of food industries in Shimla. During the tour, students gained valuable insights into the processing, packaging, and marketing of fruit-based products. The visit included an interactive session with plant officials, where students asked questions related to supply chain management, seasonal production challenges, and automation technologies in the industry. The session was both informative and motivating. 

In addition to industrial exposure, students also had the opportunity to explore Shimla's cultural and historical sites, such as the Indian Institute of Advanced Study and The Ridge, which added an enriching dimension to the trip. The visit proved to be a successful blend of academic learning and experiential exposure, significantly enhancing students’ understanding of industrial functioning and opening avenues for future career interests. 

Students from the 2nd and 3rd year of B.Sc. Food Technology participated in the visit, accompanied by faculty members Dr. Pooja Yadav, Mr. Mohd. Kamran, and Mr. Junaid Aman, who provided proper guidance throughout the trip.
