Uttaranchal University Hosts International CRE Conference on Inclusive Education Uttaranchal University’s School of Liberal Arts, in collaboration with NIEPVD Dehradun, Psychological Counselling Cell (SLA, UU), Rekhi Foundation for Happiness, Kasturba Institute of Psychology & Behavioural Medicine, and Gifts Mandi Enterprises, hosted a two-day International CRE Conference on “Psychology in Inclusive Education: Handling Psycho-Social Issues in Educational Setting” on April 18–19, 2025. With 478 papers submitted and 192 selected, the event witnessed global academic participation.

Day 1 began with registration and an inaugural ceremony. Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar welcomed the gathering, followed by a conference overview by Dr Surender Kumar Dhalwal and opening remarks by Dr Anand Pratap Singh. The conference souvenir was released. Ms Tamrina Matta delivered the keynote, followed by Ms Ankita Joshi, Vice-President, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor, and felicitation of dignitaries by Shri Jitender Joshi. The Curtain Raiser featured Ms Tamrina Matta, the first Indian female blind Psychologist, Mr Gopinath, the first Indian male blind Psychologist, A set of differently abled students of NIEPVD, namely Ms Angel Arora and Ms Daki Suchiang. A panel on inclusive education’s unmet needs was moderated by Dr Pratibha Anand Singh, featuring Dr Rushi, Dr Manisha Jha, Dr Abhilasha Gautam, Mrs Neha Verma, Ms Shivanie Kapoor, and Mr Siddharth Banerjee. A plenary chaired by Prof Vibha Sharma included a session by Prof Derick H. Lindquist. A symposium chaired by Dr Dhalwal featured Dr Amrita Sahay and Mr Sunil Sirpurkar. The day concluded with 10 workshops, 96 presentations, and a cultural evening.

Day 2 included 96 more presentations, a plenary by Dr Anand Pratap Singh and Dr Rushi, a panel led by Dr Harleen Kaur with Ms Sharmi Negi, Dr Roopali Sharma, Dr Pankaj Kumar, Prof (Dr) Ritu Sharma, and Mr Vaibhav Chauhan, symposiums by Prof Lindquist, Dr Dhalwal, Dr Abhilasha Gautam, and a roundtable moderated by Mrs Sunanda Rana with Dr Pratibha Singh, Ms Sapna Chouhan, Ms Shilpa, and Dr Pradip Kumar Gupta.

In the valedictory session, Shri Amit Sharma addressed the audience. Dr Pratibha Singh welcomed guests, Dr Reeta Rautela presented the report, Prof Rajesh Bahuguna inspired attendees, Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar announced the awards, and Shri Jitender Joshi felicitated the winners. Dr Atika Tewari proposed the vote of thanks. Awards were presented to Ms Anushree Bodhale and Dr Amruta Punjabi (MIT ADT), Ms Arpita Kaswa (JSPM), and Mr Sathish M. (UU).
