Uttaranchal University has achieved yet another
milestone in academic excellence by securing the Platinum Band in the Outcome-Based
Education (OBE) Rankings 2026, announced today by the R. World
Institutional Ranking (WIR). Significantly, Uttaranchal University is the only
university from Uttarakhand to be placed in the Platinum Band, reaffirming its
leadership in quality-driven higher education.
The distinction assumes even greater
significance as Uttaranchal University has been placed alongside some of India's
most reputed higher education institutions recognized in the WIR OBE Rankings
2026. The rankings feature premier institutions such as the Indian Institute of
Science (IISc), Bengaluru; Jawaharlal Nehru University; University of Delhi;
Banaras Hindu University; BITS Pilani; and Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham etc,
highlighting the University's growing stature in the national higher education
landscape.
Uttaranchal University's inclusion in the
prestigious Platinum Band reflects its successful implementation of
Outcome-Based Education (OBE) practices and reinforces its position among
India's leading institutions committed to academic excellence, innovation,
quality assurance, and learner-centric education.
The prestigious recognition reflects the
University's unwavering commitment to Outcome-Based Education, academic
excellence, continuous quality enhancement, and the adoption of globally
benchmarked educational practices.

Jitender Joshi said, "Being recognised in the Platinum Band is a
proud moment for Uttaranchal University. As the only university from
Uttarakhand to receive this honour, we remain committed to creating an academic

The University leadership also acknowledged the
significant contribution of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in
institutionalizing quality assurance mechanisms, strengthening Outcome-Based
Education practices, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement. The
University leadership congratulated Er. Rajesh Deorari, Director, IQAC; Er.
Sudhir Jugran, Assistant Manager, IQAC; the University officials, faculty

efforts in securing this prestigious recognition.
Prior to this recognition, the University has also established its presence in several prestigious global and national rankings, including the Times Higher Education (THE) Sustainability Impact Ratings, QS World University Rankings (Asia Rankings 2026 and Sustainability 2026), THE Interdisciplinary Science Rankings, NIRF (Pharmacy), and WURI, among others.
