The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Uttaranchal Institute ofTechnology (UIT), Uttaranchal University, Dehradun, successfully inaugurated the Five-Day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "Quantum Computing Insights forEducators: Concepts and Applications." The program aims to equip educators with theknowledge and practical insights required to understand quantum computing and itsapplications in teaching, research, and emerging technologies.
The inaugural session was conducted by Dr. Shagufta, Assistant Professor, UIT, whowelcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and participants. The event was graced bythe presence of Hon'ble President Shri Jitendra Joshi Ji, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor Prof.(Dr.) Dharam Buddhi Ji, Director Prof. (Dr.) Sumit Chaudhary, distinguished resourcepersons Dr. Varun Barthwal (HNB Garhwal University) and Mr. Ashish Bhatt(Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences, Uttaranchal University), along with Heads ofDepartments, faculty members, research scholars, and participants.
The program began with the University Kulgeet, followed by the traditional lamp-lightingceremony and the felicitation of the dignitaries and resource persons with bouquets andsaplings.In his inaugural address, Prof. (Dr.) Sumit Chaudhary, Director, UIT, emphasized theimportance of continuous faculty development and encouraged educators to embraceemerging technologies such as quantum computing. Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Buddhi Ji,Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, highlighted the role of innovation, lifelong learning, andcollaborative research in higher education.
In his presidential address, Shri JitendraJoshi Ji, Hon'ble President, inspired faculty members to adopt modern technologies andprepare students for the rapidly evolving digital world.The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks, marking the beginning of a seriesof expert lectures and technical sessions. The event reflected UIT's commitment topromoting academic excellence, innovation, and professional development in emergingtechnologies.
