Uttaranchal University Sports Committee organised an Intra-University Athletics Meet 2025 under the aegis of the Sports Committee, Law College Dehradun, on 6th and 7th March 2025. The opening ceremony of the tournament commenced at the university ground with the welcoming of the honourable guests, Ms. Ankita Joshi, Vice President of Uttaranchal University, and Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University, Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar, Dean Student Welfare and the Deans/Directors, as well as the former student Presidents of Uttaranchal sports committee, Mr Peeush Yadav and Mr Aum Garg, along with HODs of all the Colleges/Institutes were present during the inaugural of Athletics Meet 2025.
The event was commenced with the flag hosting along with the University Kulgeet, which was followed by a march past by the students of Uttaranchal University and giving a Guard of honour to the university flag. The Athletic Meet was inaugurated by the Ms Ankita Joshi, Vice- President, Uttaranchal University, by lighting the Mashal. After which, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor, Uttaranchal University, Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar, Dean Student Welfare, the former student presidents of Uttaranchal sports committee, Mr Peeush Yadav and Mr Aum Garg, Mr Shiva Malik, PTI and Ms Neha, General Secretary, Uttaranchal University Sports Committee also carried the Mashal with great zeal and enthusiasm which finally declared the Athletic Meet 2025 open.
Thereafter, a welcoming note was delivered by Ms Ankita Joshi to motivate and inspire all the participants and it left an indelible mark on their hearts and minds. Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi delivered a heartfelt speech, encouraging the efforts and dedication of the participants. Also, Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar, Dean Student Welfare motivated the students and encouraged the participants by ensuring that the university supports and inspires students in achieving heights, keeping in mind the university’s mission and vision. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from athletes representing various departments within the universities, who displayed exceptional sportsmanship and competitive spirit. Participants from a total of 12 colleges of the university participated in the competition and showcased their talent.
