The Department of Civil Engineering, University of Dehradun, successfully conducted a five-day hands-on training workshop on 3ds Max from March 4 to March 8, 2025 for the students of IV, VI and VIII Semester. The workshop aimed to enhance students' 3D visualization and design skills, equipping them with practical knowledge of 3D modeling, rendering, and visualization techniques crucial for architectural and structural design. The sessions were led by ErDinesh Sharma, a Mechanical Design Engineer and Software Trainer from The Design World, who provided in-depth training on industry-standard techniques, real-world applications, and best practices in design software usage.

The workshop provided a highly interactive and engaging experience, ensuring that students not only understood the theoretical aspects of 3ds Max but also applied their learning in hands-on sessions. The participants worked on real-time design projects, allowing them to practice advanced modelling techniques under expert guidance. This approach helped bridge the gap between academic learning and industry requirements, making students more competent in 3D design and visualization. The workshop also emphasized the importance of such digital tools in modern civil engineering for creating accurate structural representations and architectural models. Students expressed great enthusiasm, appreciating the opportunity to work with industry-relevant software in a practical setting.

The event concluded with remarks from Mr Gaurav Thakur, HOD, Civil Engineering and Prof (Dr) Sumit Chaudhary, Director UIT  praised the initiative and encouraged students to continue exploring technological advancements in civil engineering.
