The Cultural Club, Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM), Uttaranchal University, organized the event "Spotlight" on 11 March 2025. The event was a fantastic display of talent, passion, and creativity, featuring performances in singing, dancing, instrumental music, rap, poetry, and Shayari.
The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony led by Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM, along with Prof (Dr) Tilottama Singh, Head of Department, UIM. The esteemed judges for the competitions were Dr Babita Rawat and Dr Megha Aggarwal for the singing and dancing categories, and Dr Farman Ali and Mr Hardev Singh for the Shayari competition. The event started with the University's Kulgeet, followed by inspiring words from Prof Suri, who motivated students to embrace their talents and strive for success.
The event was hosted by Ms Minal and Ms Nashita, students from BBA, who kept the audience entertained and engaged throughout the evening. The audience enjoyed soulful singing performances, where participants impressed everyone with their beautiful voices, ranging from classical songs to popular hits. Instrumentalists captivated the crowd with their musical skills, filling the auditorium with delightful rhythms.
The dance performances were a major highlight, with participants showcasing various styles like folk, western, and classical. Each performance was filled with energy, expressions, and impressive choreography that earned loud applause from the audience. Shayari and poetry performances added emotional depth to the event, with heartfelt words touching the listeners.
The event's smooth execution was ensured by faculty coordinators Dr Sonakshi Bhatia and Mr Rohit Dhyani. Student coordinators Pankaj Bhandari, Jahnavi Jakhmola, and other Cultural Club members played a crucial role in managing the event successfully. Spotlight truly lived up to its name, giving every participant a chance to shine.
