The Uttaranchal School of Computing Sciences at Uttaranchal University organized an insightful workshop on "Systematic Literature Review and Quality Research Paper Writing" on January 24, 2025. This initiative aimed to enhance the faculty members' skills in conducting systematic literature reviews and crafting high-quality research papers, utilizing various advanced tools and techniques.
The workshop commenced with a session by Ms Swati Singh, who provided a comprehensive introduction to Bibliometric Analysis using VOSviewer. She expertly demonstrated the features of VOSviewer, such as generating diverse analytical graphs using CSV data files. Participants gained valuable insights into leveraging these analytical tools for crafting impactful research articles.
Adding to the session’s depth, Prof (Dr) Sonal Sharma, Director, USCS, shared practical advice on data collection from Scopus using topic-specific keywords. She also explained the advanced functionalities of Scopus that can streamline the research process.
The second session featured Dr Sameer Dev Sharma, HoD and Associate Professor, who introduced another Bibliometric Analysis tool, RCloud. He guided participants through the process of downloading data files from websites like PubMed, explaining the purpose of different data formats. Dr Sharma also demonstrated how to use these data files effectively in RCloud, showcasing its powerful features for bibliometric analysis.
The second day's sessions continued with Mr Parminder Singh, who explored paraphrasing and reference management tools like QuillBot, Zotero, and Mendeley. He emphasized how these tools could enhance the clarity and impact of research papers, offering practical tips for effective paraphrasing and citation management.
The workshop concluded on a high note, with all sessions proving to be exceptionally effective and enriching for the participants. At the closing ceremony, Prof (Dr) Sonal Sharma awarded certificates to the resource persons, appreciating their invaluable contributions to the event.
