The Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM) organized a one-week Faculty Development Program (FDP) on "Advanced Data Analysis Using SPSS & Modern Methodologies" from 22 January 2025 to 29 January 2025 at Uttaranchal University, Dehradun. This FDP emphasized the growing importance of research in faculty members' and scholars' academic careers.
Prof (Dr) Bhuban Chandra Mahapatra, Director of ODL & Research at the Central University of Rajasthan, a distinguished expert in research and development, Dr Anil Singh Chauhan, Associate Professor, UIM and Dr Mobin Anwar, Assistant Professor, UIM, were the resource persons for the FDP.
Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Director of UIM welcomed the resource persons, highlighting the FDP's importance for skill enhancement. He stressed the need for continuous knowledge updates, the significance of data in today's world, and the necessity of mastering advanced tools for precise analysis.
Dr Mahapatra provided valuable insights into basic concepts and methods of Research Methodology using modern statistical tools. With over 22 years of research experience, Prof Mahapatra has significantly contributed to educational technology and instructional design. Dr Mahapatra emphasized the role of advanced data analysis and modern methodologies in research, the digitization of education, and the pivotal role of data in enhancing the education system and national development. Dr Anil Singh Chauhan, Associate Professor, UIM, delivered his session on multivariate statistical techniques to make the attendees fully acquainted with the uses and applications of SPSS. Dr Mobin Anwar, Assistant Professor. UIM, delivered his session on bivariate statistical techniques to make the attendees familiar with the uses & application of R-studio.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr Tilottama Singh, HoD, UIM, who expressed gratitude to the experts of the FDP, the university leadership, and the enthusiastic participants.
