A Two day Workshop on “National Workshop on Developing and Managing Institutional Repositories using DSpace”

Central Library Uttaranchal University has organized 2 daysNational Workshop on Developing and Managing Institutional Repositories using DSpace“from 17– 18 January 2025. The workshop was inaugurated by Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice- Chancellor, Uttaranchal University as a Chief Guest and other distinguished guest speakers Dr Ramveer Tanwar, University Librarian and coordinator of the workshop welcomed all dignitaries, Resource Persons, and all participants and briefed the participants about the objective of the workshop. 


The prominent resource person Dr D P Tripathi shed light on the significance of DSpace in the context of library digitization. A key component of the workshop was the hands-on session, enabling participants to actively engage with DSpace, gaining practical insights into library digitization 

 

Over 40 participants, including students, research scholars, and Library professionals, participated in this event from both within and beyond the state i.e., Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Naidu and Uttarakhand The workshop was supported by Jiveshan Pvt. Ltd. from Ghaziabad. The Inaugural program was concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Mr Mukhtendra Rawat, Librarian LCD 

 

The valedictory session was graced by the presence of Dr Anuj K Rana, Registrar, Er Rajesh Deorari, Director IQAC Uttaranchal University, Dr D P Tripathi. The report of the programme submitted by Mr Arun Singh Thakur, Sr. Grade Librarian. The workshop was moderated by Dr Bushra Aziz, Resident Medical Officer (RMO), Uttaranchal Medical College of Ayurveda & Research. The valedictory programme was concluded with the formal vote of thanks proposed by Dr Rakhi Sharma, Asstt., Librarian all Library staff was present on the occasion.
