Faculty Development Program On “Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Techniques for Sustainable Engineering Applications”

Department of Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Aerospace Engineering of Uttaranchal Institute of Technology, Uttaranchal University, Dehradun organizing a Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Techniques for Sustainable Engineering Applications”, from 9 January 2025 to 13 January 2025. 

 

The primary objective of this FDP is to introduce participants to the concept and application of advanced materials and their manufacturing for various sustainable engineering applications in the domain of Mechanical, Civil and Aerospace Engineering. 

 

The FDP began with the lamp lighting ceremony followed by University’s Kulgeet. The dignitaries were welcomed by Prof (Dr) Sumit Chaudhary, Director, UIT. In his address he said the faculty development program will be beneficial in solving complex engineering challenges with the sustainable use of advanced materials. 


Prof. (Dr) Ashok K. Ahuja, Retired Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee was the keynote speaker of the FDP. In his addressal he talked about change in building construction materials from the earlier construction methods to the recent advancement for sustainable manufacturing and extreme load bearing manufacturing technologies. 

 

The program was graced with the presence of Hon’ble President of University Shri Jitender Joshi Sir, Ms. Ankita Joshi, Vice- President, Uttaranchal University, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice Chancellor, Uttaranchal University. Dr Sanjeev Kumar Joshi, HoD- Mechanical Engineering, Mr Gaurav Thakur HoD, Civil Engineering and Dr Sachin Srivastava, HoD,  Aerospace Engineering were present. The participants participated actively in the FDP session of day one, which was engaging and interactive. 

 

The FDP was coordinated by Mr Ashish Pathani, Assistant Professor Department of Civil Engineering, Uttaranchal University, Mr Divij Arora, Assistant Professor, Department of Aerospace Engineering, Uttaranchal University and Mr Vivek John, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Uttaranchal University.
