EUREKA Club of the Physics Department, School of Applied and Life Sciences at Uttaranchal University organized a two-day National Workshop on "Machine Learning and AI in Physics Research Using MATLAB" from 5 to 6 December 2024. Prof. Ajay Singh, Dean of SALS, highlighted the importance of exchanging ideas and cutting-edge methodologies in machine learning and artificial intelligence. Prof B S Rawat, Convener, outlined the event's objectives and encouraged participants to engage in discussions and network with esteemed speakers.
The workshop began with an insightful lecture by Mr Ramnarayan, Assistant Professor in the Computer Science & Engineering department at Uttaranchal Institute of Technology, Uttaranchal University, Dehradun. Mr Ramnarayan's lecture explored the convergence of machine learning and computational simulation in addressing complex problems in physics research. On the second day, Mr Ramnarayan provided an overview of MATLAB’s capabilities in implementing machine learning techniques and assigned hands-on practical exercises using MATLAB software.
During the valedictory function, Dr Pooja Rawat expressed gratitude on behalf of the Physics Department, SALS and proposed a vote of thanks. The event concluded with participants receiving certificates of participation and expressing their appreciation for the valuable knowledge and skills gained during the workshop.
The workshop enhanced participants understanding of machine learning and AI applications in physics research, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation.
