The Department of Civil Engineering, Uttaranchal Institute of Technology (UIT) organized an educational visit to the Civil Engineering Department at IIT Roorkee on 20 November 2024. This visit aimed to provide students with hands-on exposure to advanced civil engineering practices and foster an interactive learning experience within an esteemed academic setting.
The event was arranged under the guidance of Prof Dr Sumit Chaudhary, Dean, UIT, and Mr Gaurav Thakur, Head of the Civil Engineering Department. Faculty members accompanied the students on this insightful visit, ensuring a comprehensive learning experience for all attendees.
The students were introduced to various specialized laboratories and ongoing research projects at IIT Roorkee. The tour covered multiple facets of civil engineering, including structural engineering, environmental engineering, and geotechnical engineering labs. Experts and faculty members from IIT Roorkee provided in-depth explanations of the equipment, research techniques, and practical applications that are crucial in the field.
