On October 3, 2024, the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) of Uttaranchal University organized a guest lecture titled “Faculty Wellbeing & Mindfulness in Education: Motivation in the Workplace” at the Swami Vivekananda Auditorium. The keynote speaker, Mr. S.K. Mehta, an accomplished entrepreneur and motivational speaker, captivated faculty members with his inspiring personal journey.

From humble beginnings as a café waiter and newspaper and milk delivery person, Mr. Mehta has successfully built a business spanning 22 countries in the Oil & Gas sector. His achievements include purchasing a Ferrari and a private jet in Houston, UK, reflecting his indomitable spirit and perseverance. During his talk, he emphasized the critical role teachers play in shaping students' futures, urging them to recognize the importance of parental support, professional loyalty, and the necessity of continuous upskilling and reskilling.

The event began with Mrs. Anuradha Joshi, Vice Chairperson, honoring the guest speaker, followed by the lighting of a lamp and the University Kulgeet. Prof. Anil Dixit, HRDC Coordinator, delivered the welcome address, while Ms. Ritu Baloni served as the event moderator. Dignitaries present included Ms. Ankita Joshi, Vice President of Uttaranchal University; Prof. Abhishek Joshi, Executive Director of Student Affairs & IT Services; Prof. Sonal Sharma, Director USCS, Prof. M.P. Singh, Director SOA, Dr. Amit Bhatt, Campus Director; Dr. Tillotamma, Head of UIM; Dr. Radhey Shyam Jha, Head of Law; Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Head of Agriculture; and various faculty members.

The event concluded with Prof. Anil Dixit delivering the vote of thanks, followed by the National Anthem.
