To foster open communication and collaboration between students and management, Uttaranchal Institute of Management (UIM) organized its latest ‘Mann Ki Baat’ session. This interactive platform, held on 16 September 2024 was designed to provide students of Management, the opportunity to voice their concerns and challenges directly to Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM.
The active participation from student representatives of all classes, each candidly discussing the academic issues they face. Concerns raised included the need for improved classroom infrastructure, more flexibility in the exam schedule, greater access to learning resources, and better coordination in the internship programs. Professor Suri promptly responded to the concerns raised by the students and resolved some of their concerns immediately.
Furthermore, pleas for immediate modifications to the exam schedule were greeted with a promise from Professor Suri to discuss flexible scheduling possibilities with the examination committee. Several other concerns were noted for further discussion with the relevant departments. The Director promised to take up matters such as improvements in internship placement processes and enhanced library access hours with the concerned authorities. He assured students that follow-ups would take place, and solutions would be communicated soon.
Prof Suri stressed the value of ongoing communication between students and administration in his remarks following the event. He was grateful that the students had come out and offered their frank opinions.
The ‘Mann Ki Baat’ session concluded on a positive note, with students expressing their gratitude for the platform to voice their concerns and for the Director’s proactive approach in addressing their issues. This event once again highlighted UIM’s commitment to student-centric education and the administration's responsiveness to the needs of the students.
