Role of emerging technologies for the Advancement of Uttarakhand Police

Uttaranchal University in a collaboration with its Engineering wing at Uttaranchal Institute of Technology participated in the Technological exchange program with the Uttarakhand police headquarters. The students of the institution were sent to Uttarakhand police Headquarters on 19 September 2024 to provide tech insights in the field of safety and security using latest technological advancements, on the invitation of the inspector general of Uttarakhand police headquarters IG Dr. Nilesh Anand Bharne . The students exchanged ideas on the integration of technology in law enforcement, highlighting innovations like AI for crime prediction, body-worn cameras for transparency, and data analytics for resource allocation. The idea exchange emphasized the need for proper training, ethical considerations in technology use, and collaboration between tech companies and police departments to improve community trust. 

The visit conducted under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Sumit Chaudhary, Director UIT and coordinated by Dr Madhu Kirola, Head of the Department Computer Science and Engineering  and faculty member Mr. Mohit Kumar.
