Onam was celebrated with great excitement at Uttaranchal Institute of Technology on 19 September 2024. Onam is celebrated to commemorate the return of King Mahabali, an asur who is assumed to have ruled the three worlds. Though he belonged to the demon family, his virtues made him immortal. The festival of Onam is celebrated to highlight the virtues of sacrifice and humility that can make a demon so loved and cherished forever.
The celebrations of ‘Masti Onam’2k24’ started at 3:00 pm with the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony by the chief guest Director UIT, Prof (Dr) Sumit Chaudhary welcomed all the guests of the event. viz. Shri Jitendra Joshi, President, Prof Dharam Buddhi, Vice- Chancellor, all the directors, HoDs and faculty members. The event had variety of exciting games for the students like Lemon and spoon, Drop and Grab Game, Bindi on Target and Tug of War. Students participated in the games enthusiastically and won various prizes.
