The Uttaranchal University Computer Science Club in collaboration with IIT Bombay, successfully launched the second phase of the EUREKA Hackathon 2024 on 30 September 2024. The event was held to foster innovation, creativity, and teamwork among students from the first and second years of the university.
The inaugural session was graced by Prof (Dr) Sumit Chaudhary, Director, Uttaranchal Institute of Technology, Dr Rajesh Singh, Director, DRI, Division of Research & Innovation, Dr Anita Gehlot, Head DRI who served as the Chief Guest. In their address, they highlighted the significance of hackathons in today’s fast-paced technological landscape. They also emphasized how such competitions provide students with invaluable hands-on experience and encourage them to step out of their comfort zones. They also stressed the importance of active participation in these events, urging the students to seize every opportunity to sharpen their skills.

The EUREKA Hackathon serves as a platform for young innovators to showcase their talent and develop solutions to real-world problems. This hackathon opens doors for students to connect with industry experts and academic leaders, providing them a broader horizon to hone their skills.
The second phase of the event showcased the selected five teams from the first phase to further emphasize on their ideas, including a detailed PowerPoint presentation with a prototype and an enhanced business model.
Finally, team Aero Innovators won the title as the winners and emerged as the best innovators with the idea of a smart bottle deploying the idea of finding the dehydration through usage of various sensors.
