Uttaranchal College of Health Sciences organized Orientation cum Induction Programme (Deeksharambh-2024) from 01 August 2024 to 09 August 2024 to welcome the new batch of students. The program was graced with the presence of Shri Jitender Joshi, President, Ms Ankita Joshi, Vice- President, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice- Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice- Chancellor, Dr Kartikey, Joint Registrar & Director UCHS, Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar, Dean Student Welfare, who welcomed the new students with their words of wisdom. Principal, UCHS acquainted the students with the college of health sciences. The event featured a series of engaging activities, including a welcome speech and dance performance.
This was followed by laboratory, hospital and campus visits. A session on basic health sciences provided students with a foundation for their studies, while an anti-ragging lecture ensured a safe and welcoming environment. Guest lectures by experts provided students with valuable perspective into academic and industrial knowledge. Sessions on the examinations, communication skills, personality development, professional ethics and role of healthcare workers helped students understand academic expectations essential for their professional growth. A session on research & innovation encouraged students to develop scientific outlook. In addition, workshops on yoga, lifestyle and nutrition highlighted the importance of personal well-being. The library and ERP facility were introduced, with a focus on utilizing digital resources for research. Extracurricular activities such as cultural, sports, and excursion helped students maintain a healthy balance between academics and recreation. A talent hunt showcased students' skills, followed by a prize distribution ceremony to honor winners. The program concluded with a Q&A session and feedback collection from the students.
Overall, the orientation program was a success, equipping students with the necessary knowledge and motivation to embark on their academic journey. The program was coordinated by the faculty members under the guidance of Dr Kartikey, Director UCHS.
