The Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences recently hosted its Student Induction Program for the 2024-25 academic session, namely “Deeksharambh 2024” from 01 August to 08 August 2024. The opening ceremony featured remarks from Ms. Ankita Joshi, Vice President, Uttaranchal University, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice- Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice- Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Vikash Jakhmola, Dean, UIPS and esteemed guest speakers including Mrs Sudha Kukreti, Chief Pharmacy Officer at CMO Dehradun, Mr Himanshu Joshi, Senior Manager of Manufacturing at INTAS Pharmaceutical Ltd., and Mr Sahaj Ram Uniyal, Area Manager at Alembic Pharmaceuticals Limited. The event began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by Saraswati Vandana, the University Kulgeet, and the National Anthem.
During the program, Mrs Sudha Kukreti provided valuable career guidance to the students, while Mr Himanshu Joshi shared insights from his professional journey to inspire and motivate the students. Mr Sahaj Ram Uniyal spoke about career opportunities and growth in pharmacy marketing and sales.
The students were familiarized with academic curriculum and university environment through a series of lectures and a campus tour conducted by faculty members. They also participated in educational visits to the prestigious Himalayan Wellness Company and the renowned Forest Research Institute (FRI) in Dehradun.
The week was filled with engaging activities, including sports, literacy, and cultural events. Students participated with enthusiasm, and the UIPS department recognized and rewarded the winners of these various competitions.
The Induction Programme, coordinated by the faculty of UIPS under the guidance of Dr Vikash Jakhmola, Dean UIPS, was a resounding success.
