The Orientation cum Induction Program (Diksharambh-2024) at Uttaranchal School of Hotel & Hospitality Management (USHHM), Uttaranchal University, began on August 12, 2024. On August 21, 2024, a special event took place at the Vivekananda Auditorium of Uttaranchal University. Dr. Manish Badoni, Principal of USHHM, delivered an engaging welcome address. The program featured a series of insightful presentations, starting with Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Singh, Director of Research & Innovation. Prof. Singh highlighted the crucial role of research and innovation in developing future leaders in the hospitality industry.
Mr Arun Godiyal, Director, CRC, elaborated on the placement facilities and career opportunities available to students, highlighting the university's commitment to their professional development. The day's prominent speakers included University M. Jitendra Joshi, President, Prof (Dr) Dharam Budhi, Vice-Chancellor and Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice- Chancellor, who collectively outlined the university’s vision, academic standards, and community ethos. The event was further enlivened by vibrant cultural performances by students, showcasing both individual talents and group dynamics. The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Mr Nitish Bhardwaj.
Additional activities included an alumni talk, industry expert discussions, and an anti-ragging awareness session, designed to integrate students into the university's culture and underscore the importance of ethical conduct. Overall, the orientation effectively introduced new students to the university’s values and set a positive tone for their academic journey.
