Carrom, Kabaddi, and Chess Event at SOA

The University Sports Event held on 24 to 26 September 2024 was a vibrant showcase of talent and competitive spirit, featuring three exciting games: Carrom, Kabaddi, and Chess. The event saw active participation from students across various disciplines, with each game highlighting different skills and strategies. 

Carrom: The Carrom competition was a battle of precision and skill. Students competed in singles and doubles categories, with matches intensifying as the tournament progressed. Players exhibited exceptional control and technique, with strategic shots that demonstrated a deep understanding of angles and forces. The final match was particularly thrilling, with the duo of Aakash and Happy Singh emerging victorious after a closely contested game. Their consistent performance and flawless teamwork secured them the championship. 

Kabaddi: Kabaddi, a team sport that blends agility, strength, and strategy, was the highlight of the event. With teams from various departments, the competition was fast-paced and full of energy. The final between the Engineering and Arts teams was particularly intense, with the Arts team clinching the victory after a series of successful raids and solid defense. The Kabaddi event not only showcased physical prowess but also the importance of teamwork and quick thinking under pressure. 

Chess: The Chess tournament, held in a quieter, more strategic arena, provided a mental challenge for participants. The competition attracted chess enthusiasts from across the SOA, each match unfolding as a war of intellect. The final was a battle of wits, with a tense and closely contested game between Kushal Ghimire and Priyanshu Bhatt. After a few hours of strategic moves, Kushal Ghimire emerged victorious, securing the top prize with a brilliant checkmate.  

Overall, the event was a great success, fostering a sense of unity, healthy competition, and sportsmanship across the university. The performances in Carrom, Kabaddi, and Chess were a testament to the diverse athletic talents present on campus.
