Uttaranchal Institute of Management celebrated National Sports Day on 29th of August 2024 aimed at showcasing their sports enthusiasm through a series of competitive games. The event was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Suri, Director, UIM, along with Dr. Tilottama Singh, HoD, UIM.
The day witnessed an impressive turnout, with over 350 students participating in various sports categories, including Carrom, Badminton, Table Tennis and Chess. The spirited competition was a testament to the students' passion and dedication to sports.
In the Table Tennis competition, Aayush Kumar from BBA first year emerged as the champion, with Harsh Dev from MBA first year securing the first runner-up position. The Carrom competitions saw Rakesh Singh Bisht from MBA first year clinch the title in the boys' category, while Bhanu Pratap Singh Chouhan from BBA first year was the first runner-up. In the girls' Carrom event, Preeti Kumari from MBA first year took the top spot, with her peer, Mehak Badyal, securing the first runner-up position. In the boys' Badminton tournament, Raghav Singh Bisht won the match, with Aryan Thakur as the first runner-up, while in the girls' category, Ashta emerged victorious, and Rashi Verma was the first runner-up.
Prizes were distributed to the winners who participated in the National Sports Day events. These awards recognized their outstanding performance and dedication in various sports activities, celebrating their achievements and encouraging a spirit of healthy competition among students.
The Sports Club members of the UIM, Mr. Hardev Singh (Sports Club Head), Faculty Coordinators Dr. Farman Ali, Mr. Sanjay Singh Chauhan, Mr. Rohit Dhyani, Mr. Naved Mirza, Ms. Sanjana Kaithwal, and Mr. Anup Negi (Deputy Registrar, UIM), and student coordinators played a crucial role in organizing the event. The event highlighted the institute's commitment to fostering a holistic environment where academic excellence is balanced with physical well-being.
