Uttaranchal School of Hotel & Hospitality Management (USHHM), Uttaranchal University hosted an insightful online session as part of their Orientation and Induction Program (Deeksharambh-2024) on 22 August 2024. Ms. Hardeep Jas Narnauliya, Head of Learning and Development at Antara, Dehradun, led the session, offering a comprehensive overview of the hospitality sector.
Ms. Hardeep began with an exploration of the “Overview of the Hotel Industry,” discussing current trends, challenges, and prospects. She detailed upon “Job Opportunities within the Hotel Industry,” highlighting diverse career paths and the importance of aligning career goals with industry needs.
The session also covered the value of “On-the-Job Training and Internships,” with Ms. Hardeep sharing practical advice on how these experiences enhance learning and employability. She emphasized how real-world experience bridges the gap between academic knowledge and industry practice.
Finally, Ms. Hardeep addressed “Opportunities for Working Abroad,” discussing international career prospects and the skills required for success in a global context.
The event was well-received by students, offering them valuable insights into their future careers in hospitality. This session aligns with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, promoting inclusive and sustainable employment.
