Law College Dehradun Felicitates - Akash Kumar and Mohd. Wasiq

Law College Dehradun of Uttaranchal University called for a celebration on 9 May 2024, in the honor of Akash Kumar and Mohammad Wasiq, who cracked Uttarakhand Judicial Service Examination. Shri Jitender Joshi, Chancellor honored Mr Akash Kumar by giving him a bouquet and a memento. He said that students from all over the country try their luck in judicial services and the selection of two candidates out of fifteen selected in Uttarakhand from Law College Dehradun is a special achievement of the University. He wished both the students all the best for their bright future. Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Dean of Law College and Pro Vice- Chancellor said that till now 17 alumni of Law College Dehradun have become judges in Uttarakhand, while the total number of judges in fifteen states of the country is 66. 

 

In his address, Akash said that the basic mantra of success in judicial service is patience. With patience and continuous efforts, he succeeded in the third attempt. He said that taking regular classes in Law College Dehradun, guidance and encouragement of teachers proved to be most beneficial. The basics of law were clear in college itself, which proved to be a milestone in paving the way for his success. At present, along with preparation, Akash was also practicing in District Court, Haridwar and Nainital High Court, while Mohammad Wasiq is currently posted in Lansdowne as Assistant Prosecution Officer. 

 

Those present on the occasion were Prof (Dr) Poonam Rawat, Prinicpal, LCD, Dr Radhey Shyam Jha, HoD, LCD, faculty members and students.
