The Junior Hackathon was held at Vivekananda Auditorium, Uttaranchal University in collaboration with SPECS. The event was inaugurated by Shri Jitender Joshi Ji, Chancellor, Ms Ankita Joshi, Vice President, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice- Chancellor 


The event featured distinguished delegates, including Chief Guest Dr Anand Singh Uniyal, Joint Director, Department of Higher Education, Govt of Uttarakhand, and expert speakers, Dr Gulshan K Dhingra, Dean of Science PLMS Campus, SSDU, Rishikesh, UK, Dr Santosh Kumar, AIIMS Rishikesh, Uttarakhand and Dr Brij Mohan Sharma, Chief Functionary, SPECS who shared their expertise with the students. 


The Junior Hackathon is a cutting-edge transdisciplinary event aimed at encouraging and empowering young minds from 6th to 12th classes. Forty teams from different schools took part in the event. It provides a platform to build a creative solution to problems in different themes. Students came up with innovative working models in conserving water, reducing waste, smart cities and education. The event's winner received prize money of Rs 1 lakhThe list of winner and runner ups are as follows: 

 

I prize: Ann Mary School and Sr Jude’s School. 

II prize: Phool Chand NSM Girls Inter College and DAV Centenary School 

III prize: Social Baluni Public School, Doon International School Riverside Campus and Scholars Home. 

 

The consolation prize was awarded to Doon Laurels Academy and HSBM Jain Girls Inter College. The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof (Dr) Rajesh Singh, Director, Division of Research & Innovation, and the programmed was conducted by Prof (Dr) Anita Gehlot, Head, DRI.
