Division of Research and Innovation in collaboration with Law College Dehradun, organised a dynamic plenary session on the occasion of ’World Intellectual Property Day’ on 25 April 2024 sponsored by UCOST,
The event commenced with the felicitation of the guests Dr Ramakrishnan deputy director of MSME, Dr Dhananjay Gadre, Associate Professor NSIT and Mr Joginder Rohilla, and Mr Brij Mohan, founder of SPECS, by Shri Jitender Joshi, Chancellor, Uttaranchal University.
Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice Chancellor, addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of the intellectual property rightshts. Further, Dr. Ramakrishnan elucidated the distinction between the startups and established business and emphasised our nation’s third position in UNICON. Following this Dr. Dhananjay Gadre discussed the changing levels in innovation over the years, and the need for integrated science education in schools and colleges. This was followed by the launch of the book “The Art of Starting Up” authored by one of our prestigious guest Mr. Joginder Rohilla, who has showcased plethora of experiences in his book.
In continuance, Dr Lakshmi Priya Vinjamuri initiated the discussion panel where students put forth several intriguing quesions. Mr Arpit Kalra, Associate at S S Rana and Co. in his session engaged the students in a lively dialogue about the indispensable role of patent laws in today’s scenario. Further, Dr Brij Mohan Sharma, founder of SPECS, discussed the role of SPECS in helping the needy.
The event was graced by Prof (Dr) Abhishek Joshi, Executive Director, Dr. Rajesh Singh, Director, Division of Research and ,Innovation, Dr Poonam Rawat, Principal, Law College Dehradun, Dr Anita Ghelot, Head, Division of Research and Innovation, Dr Lakshmi Priya Vinajmuri, Convenor of the event, and faculty members of the different departments of the university along with more than 250 participants from colleges across the nation.
