A two-day International Conference on “Indigenous Traditional Knowledge of Medical Plants of Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve of Uttarakhand Himalayas” was organised by Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences on 9-10 March 2024. The chief guest of the event was Dr Anil Prakash Joshi, Environmentalist, Green activist, Founder of HESCO. The international speaker was Dr Arif Nur Muhammad Ansori from Indonesia. National speakers were Dr Sanghapal D. Sawant, Principal Scientist, CSIR, Pune and Dr Shuaib Khan, Dy General Manager-R&D, India Glycols Ltd. The steering committee of the event was Chief Patron, Shri Jitender Joshi, Chancellor, Patron, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor, Co-Patron, Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice-Chancellor, Convener Prof (Dr) Vikash Jakhmola, Dean, UIPS.
The convener of the event welcomed the gathering with an address note and shared the expected outcomes. Patron, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi addressed the gathering on behalf of the university. The release of Abstract Book was done in presence of all the dignitaries. The Chief Guest Dr Anil Prakash Joshi shared his valuable insight with the delegates. The inaugural session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the Organizing Secretary.
The technical session was initiated by the international speaker Dr Arif Nur Muhammad Ansori & a second technical session was taken by Dr Sanghapal D. Sawant. The post lunch session was resumed for third technical session which was taken by Dr Shuaib Khan. Around 800 delegates marked their presence in event from different institutes and universities.
Day 02 of the event started with a warm welcome of dignitaries by the convener. At the end, the evaluation of oral and poster presentation was done by dignitaries. The event concluded with a Valedictory and Award Distribution ceremony. The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes were distributed for both oral and poster presentation. The plaque of appreciation was presented to all the eminent speakers. A vote of thanks was proposed, followed by the National Anthem.
