The UU ELTAI Reading Club of Uttaranchal University orchestrated a memorable educational excursion from 01 February to 04 February 2024 to the vibrant Jaipur Literature Festival. This enriching event unfolded as a cultural and literary feast, allowing students to delve into a world of intellectual stimulation and artistic expression.
The festival, held during these dates, presented an extraordinary lineup of sessions and exhibitions, featuring luminaries such as Gulzar Sahab, Sudha Murthy, Shashi Tharoor, Vishal Bhardwaj, and Chitra Banerjee. Students had the unique opportunity to absorb the wisdom and insights of these eminent personalities, broadening their literary horizons and fostering a deeper appreciation for diverse forms of expression.
Beyond the literary realm, the trip encompassed a historical exploration of Jaipur's iconic landmarks, including visits to Amer fort, Nahargarh fort, Hawa Mahal, and the bustling Jaipur market. This added dimension provided a holistic experience, merging intellectual engagement with an appreciation for the rich heritage and architecture of the Pink City. In facilitating interactive sessions and discussions, the trip encouraged students to share their reflections on the literary events attended. This not only nurtured critical thinking but also positioned the university as a hub for intellectual discourse on a national level.
This educational journey went beyond the conventional boundaries of academia. It was a convergence of literary exploration, cultural immersion, and historical appreciation, elevating the university's presence on the national stage and providing students with a multifaceted educational experience. The entire trip was organised and managed by Dr Anubhuti Dhyani, the co-ordinator of the Reading Club and Mr Shubham Joshi under the supervision of Prof (Dr) Shravan Kumar. Dean, SLA. The experience enriched the aesthetic sensibilities of all the students who became a part of the festival.
