The Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University organized a series of FDP sessions focused on strategies to meet UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for management education from 27 January to 01 February, 2024. Each day featured distinguished experts in sustainability and management, offering valuable insights and practical strategies for fostering sustainable management education among faculty members. 

Multiple sessions were commenced with Prof. Rajendra P. Bharti, Facilitator of Excellence provided insights on SDGs and their significance in Management Education, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration. Dr Tilottama Singh, HoD, UIM discussed on the importance of teamwork across different fields to tackle sustainability challenges. Dr Sanjay Saxena, Deputy General Manager; Director-UKCDP discussed experiential learning methodologies for integrating SDGs into management education. He highlighted the importance of creating experiential learning opportunities focusing on sustainable practices in business. Dr Pradeep Suri, Dean, UIM discussed community engagement initiatives and strategies for evaluating faculty performance in SDG integration. He emphasized promoting the active involvement of management students and faculty in local development initiatives aligned with SDGs. Dr Kyla Tennin, UN Global Ambassador for Peace, spoke about advocacy, thought leadership, and progress monitoring for SDGs in management education. The session also addressed the significance of progress monitoring mechanisms in tracking and assessing the implementation of SDGs in management education. Dr Rekha Verma, Associate Professor, UIM emphasized the role of responsible education in nurturing individuals with a profound understanding of environmental, social, and ethical considerations. Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice- Chancellor discussed the pivotal role of universities in achieving UN SDGs, emphasizing leveraging resources and expertise to address global sustainability challenges.  

Dr Suri proposed the vote of thanks at the end of the session. The session was well coordinated by Dr Archana Saxena, Associate Professor, UIM.
