The National Science Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm on 28 February 2024 by the School of Applied & Life Sciences.
The event was inaugurated by esteemed dignitaries, including Shri Jitender Joshi, Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Satbir Singh Sehgal, Vice President, Prof (Dr) Rajesh Bahuguna, Pro Vice- Chancellor, Prof (Dr) Ajay Singh, Dean, SALS and Dr Anil Singh, Director of Daundi Biological Pvt. Ltd. (DPL) Selaqui, Dehradun, and Managing Director, RJMS Pharma Mumbai.
The Resonance Club, student club of Department of Chemistry along with ACS-UU International Chapter, coordinated workshop on hands on approach products making competition with more than sixty students representing the various disciplines of Chemistry.
Herbal Plantation Drive: Organized by the Department of Food Technology, SALS, coordinated by Ms Sweety Bharti and Mr Yogesh Awasthi.
Crime Scene Investigation Play: Performed by students of B Sc and M Sc Forensic Science, coordinated by Mr Nitin Pandey and Ms Surbhi Bharadwaj.
Fun Games and Food Stalls: Organized by various student clubs, including 'To Infinity & Beyond' from the Mathematics Department.
The event showcased not only academic prowess but also creativity and practical applications of scientific knowledge. It's commendable that students implemented methodologies like "zero waste" and "zero chemical" in their projects, contributing to sustainable practices. The diverse range of activities reflects the multidisciplinary nature of science and its applications.
