To celebrate “World Radiology Day”, Uttaranchal College of Health Sciences, Uttaranchal University, organized a visit to Government Doon Medical College & Hospital, Patel Nagar, Dehradun on November 8, 2023. A total of 29 students pursuing bachelor's degree in medical Radio & Imaging Technology at Uttaranchal College of Health Sciences participated in the celebration.
The objective of the visit was to provide students with an opportunity to enhance their knowledge in radiology through active participation, gaining insights into the latest advancements, technologies, and applications in the field. Mr M S Bhandari, Vice- Principal, Government Doon Medical College, interacted with the students and explained the work culture of the hospital.
The visit helped promote cultural awareness and diversity among students through various events and activities. Students from Uttaranchal University graced the stage, participating in dance performance held under solo and group dance categories. Ms Aprajita Shukla from BMRIT I semester secured second position under solo dance category. Students from BMRIT III semester participated in poster presentation and gave demonstrations via models on the functioning of radiological equipment.
The visit proved to be extremely beneficial for the students and facilitated discussions on emerging trends, research, and advancements in the medical domain along with providing a platform for participants to receive constructive feedback from peers and experts.
Overall, the event was an enriching experience for students providing them with networking opportunities that can lead to collaborations, mentorships, and assist their future academic or professional growth.
The students extended their gratitude towards Shri Jitender Joshi, Chancellor, Uttaranchal University, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice- Chancellor and Dr Kartikey, Joint Registrar and Director UCHS, for facilitating the organization of the educational visit.
