Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University organised an international webinar “Creating Sustainability through Effective IOT and Cyber security Implementation.” on 27 October 2023 for the students of MBA, UIM (Uttaranchal Institute of Management). This webinar addressed a critical aspect of IOT and Cyber security threats.
The eminent personality Dr MO Adda (Professor Portsmouth University, England) was the Guest Speaker of the Webinar. Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Dean, Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University addressed the audience with his welcome speech and shared his experience on various aspects of IOT and cyber security threats.
The Expert Dr MO Adda has an experience of more than 15 years in teaching and research in Software implementation and Cyber security threats. He focused on the importance of checking Cyber threats and ensuring the resilience for many companies. The speaker gave insights of IOT and devices which have become integral to various aspects of our lives. The expert made students aware about unauthorized data collection, which can occur through rogue apps, phishing attacks, data breaches, or unauthorized access, particularly on mobile phones. To safeguard personal information, it is essential to exercise caution by managing app permissions, regularly updating software, maintaining strong passwords, and staying vigilant online.
Few students also shared their learnings and understanding on Cyber security tools and took guidance from the experts on various IOT devices and their uses the level of engagement and the quality of insights shared during this online seminar demonstrated the relevance of Sustainable Technology and its importance for the Management students.
The online seminar was successfully coordinated by the faculty members, UIM, Dr. Reecha Singh, Associate Professor, Mr Hardev Singh, Assistant Professor and Dr Priyanka Bashkar, Assistant Professor.
At the end, Dr Tilottama Singh, HoD, UIM proposed the vote of thanks and highlighted the relevance of Sustainable Technology. The event was a remarkable success.
