A seminar on The Role of Holistic Development in Sustainable Education

 

Globe Club of Uttaranchal Institute of Management organized a seminar on “The Role of Holistic Development in Sustainable Education on 4 October 2023, in association with Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Sewa Samiti Dehradun. The speaker of the event was Mr Vinayak Sharma, President of Jai -Youth Wing of Shri Nityanand Swami Jan Sewa Samiti. The aim of the event is to inculcate holistic development and sustainable education are fundamental components of community services. They empower individuals, promote long-term well-being, and create communities that are socially, economically, and environmentally responsible. 

Mr Vinayak Sharma emphasized the importance of nurturing. He highlighted that holistic development encompasses intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth, and plays an essential role in molding responsible and compassionate citizens. He shared practical insights and success stories from the initiatives undertaken by the Samiti in Dehradun, illustrating how a well-rounded education can lead to the sustainable development of individuals and communities. 

Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Dean UIM, complemented Mr Sharma by focusing on the significance of engaging in social activities as it is essential for the holistic development of students. He encouraged the attendees to actively participate in community services as they contribute significantly to character building, empathy and leadership skills.  

The seminar proved to be insightful and inspiring for the students of UIM. At the end, a vote of thanks was proposed by Dr Tilottama Singh HoD, UIM.
