Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences organizes Students Induction Program

Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences organised a Students Induction Program “DEEKSHARAMBH” for first year students from 01 August 2023 to 08 August 2023. The program commenced with a warm welcome of the Guests Hon’ble Chancellor, Shri Jitender Joshi, Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice-Chancellor along with faculty members. The dignitaries lit the inaugural lamp followed by the recital of the University Kulgeet.  

Prof (Dr) Vikash Jakhmola, Dean UIPS, welcomed the students with his motivational lecture emphasizing the importance and role of the pharmacist in society. Hon’ble Chancellor welcomed and addressed the students to follow the norms of the university. Prof (Dr) Dharam Buddhi, Vice Chancellor encouraged the students to go for entrepreneurship and start-ups along with their studies. Guest Speaker Mr. Amit Kotiyal, DGM (QA), Sharon Bio Medicine Ltd. awared the students regarding the industrial scope in pharmacy. Another Guest Speaker Mr. Anil Bisht, Chief Pharmacist, Sub-District Hospital, Vikasnagar, Dehradun also brief about the role of pharmacist in healthcare system. 

The inaugural session was concluded with vote of thanks by Dr Tarun Parashar, HoD, UIPS.  

Students are introduced with bridge course and academic curriculum. A session of mentoring and human values was organized. 

University Librarian Dr. Ramveer Tanwar awared student about library facilities. Ms. Poonam Khankriyal from the E.R.P department briefed about ERP module followed by alumni interaction with Mr. Aman Sharma sales executive at GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) Pharma. 

A visit was planned for FRI and UCOST. 

A university visit was also organized to aware all about university facilities. 

Cultural activities like Singing, Dancing, Literary activities like Poster, Poetry, Debate competitions, Sports activities like table tennis, badminton, chess and carrom etc are organized for students and certificate was issued to the winner.
