School of Agriculture (SOA) celebrated World Soil Day on 5th December 2022 to draw attention on the importance of healthy soil for sustaining life on Earth. The theme for World Soil Day 2022 was 'Soil: Where Food Begins'. The day aims to raise awareness about the importance of maintaining healthy ecosystems and human well-being by addressing growing challenges in soil management, increasing soil awareness and encouraging societies to improve soil health. Prof. (Dr.) M.P. Singh, Dean SOA welcomed everyone and shed some light on soil health in the beginning to set the tone of the session. In the event, students of B.Sc (Hons.) Agriculture expressed their views about soil health. It was quoted during the event that taking care of our planet is very important because it is the only planet we know for sure that has life. It is also the only one capable of sustaining life. As human beings, it is our responsibility to take care of what we do not know how to make and what we depend on for survival. Students of UG and PG Degree Programme of Agriculture gave speech on soil and nature, recited poetries etc. to spread awareness among all.  After all performances, Dean of Agriculture, Head of Department, Event Coordinator, faculty members, and students planted trees. Also, they took a pledge to plant more trees in the coming new year. Event was concluded with Vote of Thanks by Dr. Rajendra Prasad, HoD SOA. Event was really a worthy and fruitful for all. Dean and Head of the Department praised the effort of everyone.
