MSME Development and Facilitation office, Haldwani and Uttaranchal University, Dehradun collaboratively organized a workshop on Issues and challenges being faced by MSMEs in the state of Uttarakhand on 9th Sept 2022. It was its first kind of event where Academia and Industries come up to share their challenges with Ministry of MSME.
MSMEs in Uttarakhand encounter several challenges that hinder their growth and sustainability. These issues include limited access to finance, inadequate infrastructure, a shortage of skilled labor, slow technology adoption, and constraints in market access. A meeting agenda is proposed to address these concerns, involving discussions on current government policies, interactive sessions with MSME representatives, collaborative solutions, and the role of support organizations. The objective is to identify practical strategies and foster collaboration to overcome these challenges, promoting the overall development of MSMEs in the state
Chief guest of the event was Joint Development Commissioner, Ministry of MSME- Ms. Swati Shahi. Other dignitaries also joined the inaugural session including Chancellor Uttaranchal University Shri Jitendra Joshi, Vice Chancellor Uttaranchal University- Prof. Dharam Buddhi , Joint Director MSME Shri Rakesh Choudhury , Deputy Director of Industries, Dehradun- Shri Anupam Dwivedi, President Industrial Association of Uttarakhand – Shri Pankaj Gupta.
