On September 24, 2022, Uttaranchal University proudly celebrated the Foundation Day of the National Service Scheme (NSS) with great enthusiasm and fervor. The NSS Foundation Day is a special occasion to commemorate the establishment of the NSS. The NSS was launched on September 24, 1969, with the primary objective of developing the personality and character of students through community service. The NSS is a vital program that promotes social responsibility, community engagement, and the holistic development of students. This annual event served as a platform for students, faculty, and staff to come together, reflect on their accomplishments, and recommit to the values and principles of the NSS.
During the event, the program officer of the university, Dr. V. K. Srivastava, delivered a motivational lecture to the students. He extensively discussed the origin and relevance of the NSS in the higher education sector of our country. He emphasized the need for higher education institutions to give special attention to NSS, encouraging more and more students to be part of this movement. He also highlighted the importance of voluntary services in addressing the issues faced by society in contemporary times.
The organizing team, led by Dr. V. K. Shrivastava and Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, worked diligently to acknowledge the outstanding work done by the NSS wing of Uttaranchal University.
