E-Cell of Uttaranchal Institute of Management, Uttaranchal University organized a virtual International webinar on “SUSTAINABILITY AND ESG REPORTING FRAMEWORK” on 23August 2022. The International Webinar aimed at providing an appropriate knowledge about Sustainability and ESG Reporting Framework as the new equation is turning ESG theory into action.

Prof (Dr) Rajeev Ranjan, HoD, UIM, welcomed the eminent speakers. Ms Neha Rastogi, Head E- Cell, Uttaranchal Institute of Management was the Master of Ceremony. The webinar was attended by the faculty members and the students of different programs of UIM.
CS A.Sekar initiated the session with the introduction of sustainable development and ESG concept. He said that “The Value Reporting Foundation” is an ESG guidance framework that establishes guidelines for how businesses must disclose information on sustainability that is financially significant to their investors.
Dr. Julia Swart elaborated the need of sustainability. She discussed the concept of three pillars namely PPP(People, Planet & Profit).She added that concept of sustainability can be looked up as long term strategies of company.
Adding on to her views Dr. Nirdesh Kumar Singh enlightened the concept of “Triple Bottom Line” which focuses on Non-financial reporting addressing Environment, Society and Governance.
Dr. Akhil Prasad added his view on challenges faced by company in ESG reporting. He addressed the need of ESG reporting from Investor’s viewpoint.
Dr. Asif Akhtar shared his knowledge about SRI concept i.e. Socially Responsible Investor. He added that in order to survive in long run, company must be committed towards ESG reporting and must be transparent regarding its disclosures.
On the behalf of Uttaranchal University Prof (Dr) Pradeep Suri, Dean Uttaranchal Institute of Management expressed his gratitude to the panelist for augmenting our knowledge about Sustainability and ESG Reporting Framework.
