The Uttaranchal Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (UIPS), Uttaranchal University, celebrated World Ozone Day on 16 September 2026 with the theme “Global Action for a Cooler Planet.” The event aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of the ozone layer, environmental protection, and the need for collective action towards a sustainable future.
As part of the celebration, students actively participated in Debate and Quiz Competitions, demonstrating their knowledge, awareness, communication skills, and critical thinking on various environmental and ozone-related issues. The debate competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students, with the Against Team emerging as the winner. The quiz competition also received active participation and engagement from the students. Atisna (B.Pharm IInd year), Shukrenan (Pharm.D Ist year), and Arish Masoom (B. Pharm IIIrd year) secured the first, second, and third positions, respectively.
The debate competition was judged by Dr. Shalu Verma and Mrs. Jyotsana Suyal, Assistant Professors, UIPS, who evaluated the participants based on relevant performance parameters.
