The Uttaranchal School of Hotel & Hospitality Management (USHHM), Uttaranchal University, celebrated World Tourism Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and participation from students and faculty members on 29 September 2026 at the university campus.
The celebration featured a vibrant range of activities designed to showcase students’ creativity, hospitality skills, cultural understanding, and professional competencies. Major attractions of the event included a Chef Competition, Quiz Competition, and Cultural Events, which provided students with opportunities to demonstrate their knowledge, culinary expertise, teamwork, and creativity.
A special Chef Competition was organised as one of the key highlights of the celebration. Following the competition, the dishes prepared by the participating students were beautifully displayed and evaluated by a panel of judges from the university. The programme was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Executive Director- Students Affairs & IT Services Prof. (Dr.) Abhishek Joshi, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Dharam Buddhi, and Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Bahuguna, whose presence encouraged and motivated the students.
The program was organized under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Manish Badoni, Director of U.S.H.H.M, for which he expressed his gratitude to everyone for their active support and coordination from the entire department and the students. Such events not only reflect the commitment of the students, but they also promote tourism, hospitality, culinary skills, cultural heritage, and teamwork.
