The Department of Forensic Science, School of Applied and Life Sciences (SALS), Uttaranchal University, organized an educational visit on “Autopsy Visit and Career Scopes” for the students of B.Sc. and M.Sc. Forensic Science on 14th May 2026. The visit was aimed at providing students with practical exposure to medico-legal autopsy procedures and enhancing their understanding of forensic pathology and criminal investigations. During the visit, students observed the procedures involved in autopsy examination, evidence handling, medico-legal documentation, and determination of the cause and manner of death. The students were also introduced to mortuary protocols, ethical considerations, and the importance of forensic experts in the criminal justice system. In addition to practical exposure, the session highlighted various career opportunities available in forensic science, forensic pathology, toxicology, crime scene investigation, and related medico-legal fields. The interaction with forensic experts enabled students to gain valuable insights into professional practices and future career prospects. Overall, the educational visit proved to be highly informative and beneficial, helping students connect theoretical concepts with real-life forensic applications and motivating them towards professional growth in forensic science and allied disciplines.
