The ELTAI Reading Club of the School of Liberal Arts organized a workshop titled “Read to Lead: Developing Leadership Skills through the Habit of Reading” on 10 April 2026 from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the SLA Seminar Hall. The program commenced with a formal welcome, where the resource person, Col. Alok Kumar (Retd.), was felicitated with a floral bouquet and memento as a gesture of appreciation. The keynote address by Col. Alok Kumar (Retd.) formed the core of the event. Drawing from his extensive experience in the Indian Armed Forces, he elaborated on how consistent reading contributes to the development of discipline, clarity of thought, and informed decision-making. He shared insightful anecdotes from his military career, illustrating how reading played a crucial role in shaping leadership abilities, adaptability, and strategic thinking in high-pressure situations. His address emphasized that leadership is not merely about authority but also about continuous learning and intellectual preparedness.

Following the keynote session, an interactive question and answer round was conducted, where students actively engaged with the speaker, seeking guidance on developing effective reading habits and applying them to personal and professional growth. To further enhance engagement, a game of Guess the Leader was organized. In this activity, participants were given clues describing well-known leaders and their qualities, and they were required to identify the personalities. This segment brought an element of enthusiasm and participation, reinforcing the link between reading, knowledge, and leadership awareness in an enjoyable manner.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Nandini Kumar, member secretary, ELTAI Reading Club, expressing gratitude to the resource person for his enlightening session, as well as to the organizers and participants for their active involvement.
